Raising the Standard on Player and Coach Development
Who Are We

Soccer Performance International (SPI) LLC, a Loudoun County- Virginia (USA) based organization, which is solely committed to player and coach development. It was created for the purpose of providing a professional soccer education to area youth and coaches. SPI takes pride in working closely with clients and international organizations to create a unique and inspirational learning environment. SPI is approaching its’ tenth year of service to the soccer community and currently has training agreements with three (3) youth clubs in the state of Virginia (USA).

 Who Do We Coach/Train:

SPI staff relies heavily on the understanding of youth development and associated phases. It is this understanding that allows our professional coaches and trainers to teach players in all the following stages of development:

  • Early-Preliminary Phase (ages 3-4)-Focus on this stage of development should be on motor and social-skill development.
  • Preliminary Phase (ages 5-6)-Continue to develop motor-skills with focus on basic skill techniques. Put primary emphasis on kicking, dribbling and overall ball control.
  • Basic Proficiency Phase (ages 7-11)-Primary focus on skill development. Secondary focus on game "problem solving" and overcoming obstacles. Some obstacles encountered by players at this stage of development are; opponents, teammates, use of space, etc.
  • Competitive Proficiency Phase (ages 12-16)-Focus on-field problem solving as it relates to specific players position within team unit.
  • Advanced Proficiency Phase (ages 17-19)-Focus on planned, systematic improvements of team performance.

What Is Our Vision

As with any successful organization, creating a common vision for the future and a common understanding of what must be done to get there is critical. It creates ownership and commitment to purpose, while clarifying and focusing our energies and efforts. In year 2000, SPI adopted the following vision statement:

“SPI is solely committed to player and coach development while creating a unique, exciting, inspirational learning environment where character, intelligence, personality and talent can fully develop.”

Together our vision and our slogan, convey a brief, concise synopsis of the purpose of our organization, and communicates it to our clients, employees and the world at large.
