SPI-IFA/Ascoli: A Relationship Based On Education

The Italian Football Academy (IFA) has brought together the experience of its’ own technical staff and the experience acquired from the Perugia Football Club’s coaching staff to dreate a unique developmental institution. SPI has now joined IFA in a consolidated effort to bring advanced player and coach education to local US clubs. SPI and IFA have identical philosophies which clearly put an emphasis on structured and methodical soccer education. Both organizations have highly trained and accredited staff most holding coaching credentials from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and European Football Association (EUFA) and licenses form organizations within the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL).

SPI, as the IFA US based affiliate, will work closely on a yearly basis with the academy to identify quality players and possibly fill its’ ranks in the Italian professional league. SPI will also provide learning opportunities for youth coaches as the demand for “higher learning” continuous to increase.  The IFA technical organization chart consists of 80 observers and 20 supervisors distributed along the national territory, all of them coming from multi-year professional experiences.

Every soccer season IFA staff are required to attend affiliated team games and try-outs as part of a monitoring process impacting over 16000 young players per year. The goal is to identify and assess qualified players to possibly join other professional youth players in the Italian 1st Division (Serie “A”, “B” or C).

International Opportunities for Young Players
SPI-Ascoli Soccer Academy
The Ascoli Calcio 1898 SpA, Italian professional football club, has partnered with SPI with the objective of recruiting talented young soccer players to increase the overall technical level of its youth sector, a fundamental resource to assure a stable insertion of young players into the first team.

With this in mind, Ascoli Calcio began the  Ascoli Soccer Academy, whose technical and organizational management is assigned, exclusively throughout the world, to the Italian Football Academy (IFA), a company specializing in professional football/soccer scouting and the organization of youth sector management for professional Italian soccer clubs.

SPI will work closely with the IFA/Ascoli Soccer Academy in the evaluation and selection of player candidates within the US.  IFA/Ascoli Soccer Academy will provide on a regular basis and at SPI’s request,  coaches to assist in the evaluation of young football players.
