ODFC Continues to Grow!
Club grows to 250 strong-including 11 travel teams!!

To those individuals familiar with European clubs, ODFC has a familiar "old country" feel. Everyone from the club’s Director of Programs, to the Player Development Specialist, focus on every aspect of the player’s soccer education, including his/her personal development. Sports nutritionist and physiologist will be accessible to both member parents and players, working closely with them to insure proper development.

The Micro-Dragons "Help Us Grow in Soccer" (HUGS) Program is specifically tailored for the youngest players (ages 3 through 8). Kids spend one "fun" hour per week developing important motor skills critical for proper development. ODFC averages 40-50 kids enrolled in this program per season.

The ODFC’s Academy Program is geared for players 9 and 10. This is similar to the "house" program of neighboring clubs, except that the focus will continue to be growth and development. Players are taught proper technique in a structured and fun environment. These players and coaches have access to the same club benefits and training resources that the club’s "travel" teams receive.

The Youth Development Travel (YDT) Program currently has 7 girls teams and 4 boys team. Plan is to expand and include 3 more teams in the fall 2009. Teams at ODFC will participate in all three of the area travel leagues; including ODSL, NCSL and WAGS. These players will have access to year-round professional training programs where their skills are expertly developed and analyzed.

Parent coaches are eligible for specialized training and trainer assistance for his/her practice sessions. ODFC has extended the bounds of soccer to promote social and community programs. For more information visit the ODFC web site at www.oldDominionfc.org
