A.C.Cesena and SPI- International Partners in Development
A New Synergy Is Created

On Tuesday, November 24th in a planned news conference at the Dino Manuzzi Stadium in Cesena, SPI and A.C. Cesena announced their partnership in front of reporters and developmental staff.

In what the Italian news media is calling “Una Nuova Sinergia” (a new synergy) both organizations agreed to work jointly in developing US based players and providing opportunities for high-level players from Italy to play locally in the states.

Over the next two months SPI and A.C. Cesena will begin marketing educational (and cultural) programs to SPI affiliated clubs and members.

 
SPI with this historic agreement becomes A.C. Cesena’s 37th affiliated organization and the only official partner in the United Sates.

Programs Coming In 2010!

Presidents and Directors from both SPI and A.C. Cesena will meet on November 23rd to sign a long term joint venture in Cesena, Italy.   

A.C. Cesena currently has 36 affiliated schools in the Romagna region of Italy and as of November 2009, its’ 1st US based partner. A.C. Cesena currently playing in the Italian professional league (Serie “B”) holds the Italian Soccer Player’s Association “Player Development Award” and has been recognized as the best “youth development academy” in Italy.
 
 
This historic agreement will bring to SPI’s affiliated clubs the Cesena brand and its’ world renowned method of training. The common vision of player development, shared by both organizations, will now expose US based players to an innovative methods of training, EUFA “A” coaches and international playing opportunities.

Lotto-New SPI Sponsor

As of November 1st, SPI will be backed by the strength of the Lotto brand. Now the organization that sponsors teams such as A.C. Cesena , A.C. Fiorentina, Palermo and Udinese will outfit SPI trainers.

SPI-Frozen Ropes
Educational Alliance Grows!

Frozen Ropes is considered a world leader in the baseball and softball youth development arena. Their new 10,000 square foot turf facility in Chantilly recently opened its’ doors and has begun training our local baseball and softball players.
 
SPI has partnered with Frozen Ropes-Chantilly in order to continue providing our youth player’s skills training during the winter months. Starting in January 2008, SPI will be given exclusive use of the facility to run all its’ developmental skills training in this state-of-the-art facility. Our Helping Us Grow in Soccer Program (HUGS) and youth skill development sessions will move indoors giving SPI a true year-round training capability.

SPI Hires New Director of Goal-Keeping/International Programs

SPI welcomes Massimo “Max” Bonazza as the new Director of GK/International Programs. Based out of Bologna, Italy, Max will manage all aspects of SPI’s international programs working closely with local (Italian) and other European professional clubs to further strengthen SPI’s international relationships.
 
Max holds a prestigious EUFA “B” coaching badge and gained his playing experience at Ravenna-Calcio (Italy). He now continues to develop goal-keepers ages U10-U19 for a number of local clubs in and around his native Bologna.
 
Plans call for Max to spend early 2010 in the US to draft and implement structured (curriculum based) educational programs for our client clubs as part of their comprehensive player development programs.Current plans also call for Max to manage SPI Goal-Keeping Academies in North Carolina, New York and Virginia in the summer of 2010.
